  Pietro Adamo

Pietro Adamo’s paintings are celebrations of the “unpredictable and in exhaustible record of life”. The artist abandons the conventional renderings of geometric forms through his textured surfaces and rough contours. Modeling pastes, plaster and gel mediums are combined with silica to create texture. Adamo then layers the acrylic ground color followed by oil stains. His work is deliberate and tedious at times, the colors are sophisticated and passionate.

Adamo was born in Toronto Canada and studied fine Art and Art History at the University of Toronto and Sheridan College. Upon graduation he became an art professor at Chaminade College in Toronto where he established a strong visual arts program. During his two decades of teaching, he executed many private and public commissions. He eventually left teaching to paint full time.

“I have to paint…to speak without words, to express myself without restrictions…never relenting”.
